Suicide can be prevented and i.c.D.s is here to help
WHAT WE DO
Increasing Confidence Decreasing Suicide(I.C.D.S.) establishes a service oriented experience for teens and young adults that will provide training, activities, mental health/counseling support as financial assistance and direct referral to mental health professionals in the Greater New Haven area. Incorporated in 2018, I.C.D.S. is a nonprofit looking to change the anxiety level of urban teens and young adults with after school and weekend events. Activities will occur in cooperation with local school, library, therapists, social workers, and other nonprofit partners.

HOW WE WORK
I.C.D.S. will provide youth-suicide prevention activities for
post-graduate, high school and middle school students from ages 12 – 20 through a membership-defined structure. Activities will occur after school as presentation and workshop settings with guest speakers that will engage members weekly. For interested educators, I.C.D.S. will provide an interactive classroom-based curriculum. For more intense levels of support, I.C.D.S will connect participants to mental health referrals. Designated participants/members will receive training as suicide prevention Peer Leaders and will conducted education programs and events at area schools and libraries.
